Maiya's Cabbage chutney
The owner of Maiya's Restaurant came to the cookery show OGGARANE DABBI in Z Kannada Channel.Maiya's restaurant is very well known restaurant in Namma Bengaluru. So the recipe credit goes to the owner mr. Sadananda Maiya.Thanku sir for the wonderful,healthy and tasty recipe.
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup washed and chopped cabbage
1/4 cup chopped onion
2 tsp oil
Lil tamarind
1 tsp coriander seeds/daniya
1/2 tsp cumin seeds/jeera
4-5 methi seeds/fenugreek
2-3 dry red chillies
FOR TEMPERING:
1 tsp oil
1 tsp mustard
4 garlic cloves
1 red chilli
1 sprig of curry leaf
PROCEDURE:
- In a pan saute onion for 5 mins
- Add chopped cabbage ,salt and fry till it is cooked
- Transfer it in a bowl
- In same pan put coriander seeds,methi ,cumin seeds,red chillies and fry till brown colour
- When it comes to room temperature grind the fried ingredients with fried cabbage,onion mixture ,tamarind ,salt to taste with lil water
- Temper with the ingredients
